Growing up in a cycling family in beautiful Marin County, California – home to world-class road and mountain biking – it’s no wonder that Arthur became obsessed with bikes as a kid. Despite getting sidetracked with cars for a few years, the love of bikes landed him back in a bike shop during his college years. After college and a two-year stint living in Russia (where he managed to get his hands on an original Gary Fisher hardtail!) Arthur returned to the Bay Area where he fully restructured his life around bikes. Working his way up at a bike shop in San Francisco, he started off in sales, then purchasing and merchandising, then service writing, and eventually management. Along the way, he learned to judge bikes and accessories on their merits, not the marketing spiel supplied by brands. He also joined a local cycling team and firmly embedded himself in the Bay Area cycling culture, shredding mountain bike laps in Pacifica, grinding up fire roads in Marin on gravel bikes, and spending long hours on his road bike in Point Reyes and the East Bay. After seven years in the Bay Area, Arthur relocated to Bellingham, Washington, where he’s attending engineering school by day, working as a CNC operator by night, and riding in the hours in between.
