A native of Upstate New York, Jared Dean attended college at SUNY Potsdam and earned a degree in creative writing. Since graduating, he has climbed across the United States, exploring such areas as the Eastern Sierra, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, where he spent a season working at the iconic Miguel's Pizza. Now back in New York, Jared spends the majority of his play time in the Shawanagunks and Adirondacks climbing, running, and hiking.
