Our Analysis
We couldn't do a flip flop review without including the most classic of them all: The Havianas Top. But these only get a First Look mention and not full inclusion in our Hands On Review because we just don't find them that comfortable for wearing. Sure they work great for around the beach and the pool, but anytime we tried a short hike or a big day of walking, we usually developed nasty blisters. The Havianias are ideal for warm climates, the water, and just lounging around the house. They are not in the same category as a workhorse flip flop like our Editors' Choice, the Olukai Ohana. Now I know what you are thinking: millions of people around the world wear similar flips to the Havianas all day. True. And we salute their foot strength and burly skin. We just much prefer a more comfortable, cushioned, and padded flip flop if we are going to wear them like shoes. If you want just a little more comfort and support than the Havianas, we suggest the Sanuk Yogi 2, which is not as durable but way more squishy and doesn't have a plastic strap to cut into your foot. Check out our complete The Best Flip-Flop Sandals Review to see what we thought were the best sandals.
