The Best Snow Grips
We bought 11 top ice cleats (aka snow grips) and set out to shovel, hike, and commute on icy paths. We evaluated each on traction, ease of use, fit and durability.
The Kahtoola MICROspikes not only gave the best traction, but they were incredibly easy to use and had a secure fit. That said if you want less aggressive spikes and something easier to throw in your bag, get the Yaktrax Walk. They are also an incredible value.
To go with snow grips, we review winter gloves, top-rated winter jackets, and the warmest winter boots.
Editor's Note: On December 19, 2024, we added the Cimkiz model, which performed nearly identically to the Unigear. Both are amazing values for an aggressive cleat.
